It is Saturday, we are back here in Tampa at the hotel, and it has been a long but good day. We woke up early (around 7) had breakfast and went for a swim, then Oscar went down for his nap (I took one too). That's also when Megan wrote the last post... So I'll pick up from there. Around 1 when Oscar woke up we got ready and drove over to a nice big park out to the east of Brandon, a place Robbie had gone with the triplets. Dad, Donna, Michael, Ty, and Shea were meeting us there, along with Robbie and the triplets.
The place was called Medard park or something like that, and it used to be an old phosphate mine. So, in addition to the regular park stuff like field and jungle gyms they had a really cool wooded area that was filled with lots of interesting hills and crevasses. It reminded me of some of the sets for plant of the apes! All the kids were having fun climbing and exploring. Tres took us on a tour of the hills with me, Megan, Oscar, Ty, Shea, Ethan, and Maya...
Donna and Dad brought lots of food and Pat came prepared with a ton of buffalo wings... People were snacking, kicking and throwing balls, playing paddleball, and Oscar was running around in the middle of everything. One of his favorite activities is the "name check." He looks at each person in the vicinity, then points and says their name. Then if someone is missing he says "where's 'so and so'" and looks around for them until he locates them. He was really happy to see most of the family together. Since he has studied the photos so closely, he knows who goes with who. And he can be a little perfectionist sometimes!
The best thing was just seeing Oscar playing with Ty and Shea and Maya. He really enjoyed it. We had a great day (and Lolo won his domino tournament!) More on that to come...
