Today we had a big day with Oscar. We got up and out of the house early (around 10) and went to Heller's for breakfast. We ran into Isabel and her parents there. She had a tricycle that Oscar was interested in. We ate and talked. Isabel and Oscar had fun together. Afterwards we caught the 42 down to Dupont Circle and went to the market. We got lots of great local apples, veggies, goat cheese, and WV "kobe" ribeye steaks. Oscar snacked on artisanal cheeses and apple slices. Then we headed to Teaism for a little break. Megan had assam, I had mango juice, and Oscar ate a bunch of tofu. After a few minutes of playing around outsside, he started to go poop and he told me "peepee." I took him to the bathroom to change him and he had already done his business. I figured he might need to do a little more so a put him on the "big boy potty" and he made another poop and some peepee too! He was so happy. We had a celebration in the bathroom.. Mama and Papi were both so proud and so was Oscar. Next we stopped at ginza (the japanese store) to get a neck pillow for Megan. Oscar liked looking at all the animal sculptures, fountains, and buddhas. Then we walked home, our stroller loaded up with goodies. At home we spent some time gardening in the front yard, getting it ready for fall. Oscar played with his cars and people for a while and then he helped us pull weeds and sweep up. He liked watching the ants on the sidewalk. We sang "las hormiguitas." It was a nice sunny but cool day, with just the beginning of fall in the air. Mama and Oscar got real dirty and took a nice bath. Oscar ate some rice and garbanzos for dinner. To end the day we listened to Jose-Luis Orozco and Oscar went mi mi with gator and bunny.
