Oscar and Christian are in Florida this weekend visiting the Yates/Adams/Cooper side of the family and I'm here in DC... It's been really strange and surprisingly hard to be without them. I thought I would relish the freedom of being able to go to movies, stomp around the house, blast music during naptime, and just generally escape my day to day responsibilities, but that hasn't been the case at all.
The house really just feels weird and empty and I can't wait for them to come home...
So I've spent the weekend working on some domestic projects that never seem to get done. Only to realize that there are many, many, many more that will never get done once they return. So even though I still feel compelled to recite the litany of our lady of disordered dwellings--it has been good to remind myself that none of that really matters and that this house only feels like home when we are all here in our crazy, disheveled and chaotic glory.
