Oscar had his second swim class today at the J. The weather has been so cold lately! It is weird to go swimming, but it is good for all of to get out of the house. (Even though it's hard sometimes). We all took a cab down today and Megan watched us swim. Oscar loves the water. He is completely at home in it, not afraid at all. He doesn't do a lot of splashing. Today he was very peaceful, just relaxing. He really enjoyed floating on his back with his head on my shoulder. We swam around like this for a few mintues and I think he was even starting to fall asleep! There are about 12 other kids in the class, all around 1 or 2 years old. In the class the teacher gets us all to make a big circle, then we sing songs like "the hokey pokey" and "ring around the rosy" all while doing swimming moves and blowing bubbles in the water. Oscar still doesn't get the bubbles. He tries to drink the water sometimes. We're still working on getting him to close his mouth underwater. But he loves swimming and watching the other kids in the class. He did well with his little barbell and floating backpack. Next time we've got to get him a little more rested and ready for his class, so he can enjoy it more. I'll also try to take some photos that we can post here. Megan's going to swim with him next time and I will watch. Hasta luego!
