oscar's life

We ran Oscar ragged this past weekend. On Saturday we spent what seemed like hours at Nordstrom's. At one point he got so overstimulated and tired that we went to sit in the lounge and he took off and walked about ten steps. He ate some pomegranate seeds, thai food and took a few sips of jasmine tea. Yesterday we did more running around downtown in the driving rain and went over to Shannon and Patrick's to watch the Sopranos. He loves going over there. He plays with their globe and chases Oliver around. They gave him two books: Como el Grinch Robo la Navidad and Curious George (which I now realize has some pretty colonialist, racist undertones, but the drawings are great). We've been reading to him a lot lately. Right now he seems particularly into his Piglet book, En el Campo, his Elmo book and Home for a Bunny.

We're leaving to go to Mexico on Wednesday. The weather has been so cold and dreary lately--it will be so nice to see the bright tropical sun in San Miguel. And I'm really glad that Oscar gets to share his first birthday with Bett. She will be his best birthday present (he will just lap up all of that attention) and he will hers, too!
