Oscar has been getting braver in taking steps. Yesterday he took a step or two towards Megan. Tonight he took two or three steps on his own, covering a span of about 4 feet! He was pretty proud of himself and we were excited too. Of course, he is holding some object in his hands while he does this. Usually it's one of the balls from his activity playzone, or maybe a cylindrical object like a pen or a pretzel rod. Sometimes he can hold onto one of these things for hours at a time without letting go!
We have been playing games and reading to him. Today we read "Home for a Bunny" and he really enjoyed it. He also likes to watch the Baby Doolittle video with all the animals, and the picture book we bought in Spain, "En El Campo." Whenever I make the cow sounds he gets excited. Oscar's been making more sounds and seems to be putting things together. He got back into saying "Ba-Bye" and waving, which he started a few weeks ago and then stopped. Now he associates it with coming and going. He seems to use it for both. He also says "Ba Ba Ba" when he is getting hungry and maybe he's trying to say "bottle," I don't know. No more giggy-giggy! He's getting 2 or 3 bottles a day now, in addition to the teta. He's been eating a lot of different things. His favorite lately is matzo ball soup! Also he's been eating lots of mango, baby carrots, tofu (still), oatmeal, pasta, etc. We had a nice day today in the house (2 good naps). Tomorrow we want to go for another fall walk...
